CONSIDERATION refers to the second stage of the customer flow. In here, a young person transforms from a visitor to a lead. In consideration, the customer is actively searching and applying for opportunities. This is the stage that we need to establish their trust to us, we have to guide them in their application and we must do constant follow-up to keep them engage and moving through the process.

HOW TO PUSH EP TO PROGRESS IN CONSIDERATION?
Important: IF YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW TO PUSH, KNOW WHAT IS PULLING THEM BACK?
1. Are they lost?
Most EPs do not apply because they simply do not know how. Make sure to educate them how to use OP - create their profile, search & apply for opportunities. It's not just about OP, but they have to know the whole process of what they are getting into. 4. Are they having difficulty finding opportunity?
Then you can help them by sending them opportunities. You can search on EXPA/OP directly or use various searchtools. |
2. Are they undecided?
Some EPs that come to us know exactly what they want. But there are those who don't. For people on the edge, show them the benefits of the program and that there is no harm in trying. Maybe this is exactly what they need to decide on their life. 5. Are they having difficulty convincing their parents?
For most EPs, their parents have a huge weight on their decision-making. You can give the parents a call or this letter too. |
3. Do they need more hands-on support?
You can offer to meet with them through a consultation chat. In here, you can explain, educate and set expectations in person. 6. Is money a problem? For GT EPs, these are paid internships so explain how they will be able to have money to support them (not for luxury but at least for basic needs). Maybe you can send them scholarships available in uni that they can apply for. |
5 MISTAKES EP MANAGERS COMMIT DURING CONSIDERATION
1. Assume that once the EP clicked applied they will be matched
No, they won’t! The reality is the TN manager might not even contact your EP even after they clicked apply. That is why you shouldn’t celebrate that your EP click that apply button (you should but do not stop there - remember the goal is to match!).
2. Not following up with TN managers
As an awesome EPM, you actively match your EP. This means that you will send your EPs CV to the TNMs of opportunities he/she applied to. Aside from email, you can use other mode of communication such as Facebook Whatsapp, LINE and WeChat to contact the TN Manager. Question: will the TN manager get annoyed that you are contacting him/her? Unlikely! They want to match their TNs too!
3. Forgetting about your EP
When you told your EP, you will follow-up, you better follow-up. Nothing says good customer service than doing what you said you’ll do. Build a good relationship with your EP and talk to them consistently. Sometimes, it doesn’t even have to be the internships but linking them articles related to something they are interested about is a big plus!
4. Not updating your trackers
Most people forget because they don’t track. Track the status of your EP and the TNs that they are applying for (so you can follow up with the TNMs - check #2).
5. Ignoring country partners
Country partners are there to make matching easier. Use the searchtools well in looking for TNs and getting TNM contacts. Do not encourage EPs to apply outside our country partners because they will just have a difficult time. But that’s bad customer service if we don’t give them more options? NO! It’s bad customer service if you make them apply to TNs they won’t get (These countries already have their own partners which will be their priority).

HOW TO ASSESS AN EP?
TIP: Focus your energy on EPs with high potential. This is why you have to assess your EPs.
GENERAL CRITERIA:
1. Proactiveness - See how fast they respond and apply for opportunities 2. Background Alignment - Their background (education, work and skills) makes them easier to match 3. Availability and Duration - The closer the start date, higher on matching priority 4. Commitment - They really value this opportunity and see how it contributes to them. |
